Hey just wanted to share a little story… I am lesbian, I am from Ontario, and I am totally proud of being one. But my parents don’t accept me as much as I would like. They don’t want me to be with a girl, nor do they accept my girlfriend, Beth (As shown above). It hurts, because all the “typical” (if you want to call it that) things I would do that would mark me as a “dyke”, they won’t let me do. For example, I really want to cut my hair really short, but they are doing all they can to make me not do it. I can’t talk about girls, about being a lesbian, or the topic of being “gay” in my house. What’s the worst is that they claim to be “open minded” about it but then go right around and act as if it’s a disease. My dad is absolutely sure that it’s just a phase, and that I am going to get over it. My mom is determined to have me be with guys. I know they love me, but it still hurts, and I know other people have the same problems as me. I just want everyone to know, that I understand where you guys are coming from. I understand what it’s like to feel unaccepted because of your sexuality. So, if any of you need to talk, I will always be here. I promise.
